Early Retirement Incentive Program (ERIP) Calculator

You may use the calculator above to estimate your retirement benefit under the ERIP terms and conditions. NOTE: The results apply to members who are eligible and qualify for an ERIP retirement. The actual retirement benefits under the ERIP terms and conditions will be verified and calculated by LACERS. Definitions of ERIP Calculator Terms

Age at Start of ERIP – Select your age as of November 2, 2009 from the drop down menu.

Years of Service – Enter the amount of Years of Service you have accumulated. Note: Years of Service is defined as only those periods during which a member received compensation from the City as an employee or during which the employee not only received Workmen’s Compensation benefits (Div. IV, Labor Code) for temporary disability on account of any injury or illness arising out of and in the course of employment with the City but for which the employee also made contributions to the fund as provided in Charter Section 1162.

Service Credit – Enter the amount of Service Credit you have accumulated. Note: Service Credit is defined as the time component of the formula used by LACERS for purposes of calculating retirement benefits.

Years of Service Purchased Under GSB Program – Enter the number of years you have purchased, if any, through the LACERS Government Service Buyback (GSB) Program.

Job Class – Select your current City job classification from the drop down menu.

Retirement Contribution is 6% - If you are currently contributing 6% towards your LACERS retirement, please select “Yes.” If you are currently contributing an amount other than 6% towards your LACERS retirement, please select “No.” Note: City civilian employees hired on or after January 1, 1983 contribute 6% towards their LACERS retirement.
